Tuesday, December 1 st is GIVING TUESDAY and Hosea House has set a goal of raising $25,000 in support of our mission to nourish the bodies and souls of the men, women, and children of the Northern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati communities.

This global movement unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities, in the face of the overwhelming commercialism that follows Thanksgiving, and we need your help. Much has changed with the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic and serving some 250 carry-out meals each evening offers some new and unique challenges. Foremost among them is the purchase of food, which we must have in sufficient quantities to prepare a meal for 200 plus diners.

We are not a pantry, and donations of small assorted canned goods are not suitable. Prior to the pandemic, In-Kind donations truly fed our clients. We have a fantastic network of grocery retailers, churches, farmers, businesses, and volunteers. Everything that comes in our door is weighed and recorded. Our 2019 In-Kind donations were 205,350 pounds…29, 161 TONS valued at $1,260,000.

These are virtually gone since COVID-19…some disappeared, others down 75%. Another need? Those 3-compartment Styrofoam to-go containers and cutlery sets (containing knife, fork, salt and pepper and napkin) are essential to the delivery of a hot multi-course meal. Often the only hot, nutritious meal these folks will have.
