Hosea House Announces New Executive Director

Newport, Kentucky - Hosea House, the only non-profit Soup Kitchen in Newport, Kentucky serving hot dinners seven days a week, is proud to announce the appointment of Lauren Cavanaugh as its new Executive Director.

"Lauren brings 17 years of Non-profit experience from the Warren County, Ohio Government, to our Mission,” said Hosea House Board Chair Steve Ader. “Her prior role yields a deep understanding of the needs of our clients at Hosea House. She is accustomed to working with diverse organizations, creating inroads and supporting community partnerships. The Board is looking forward to her knowledge and experience for building upon our Mission," Ader concluded.

31 Years in Northern Kentucky

Hosea House started its Soup Kitchen 31 years ago, feeding a handful of people. Over the years, it underwent a series of transformations, including a major one during the pandemic when it renovated the dining room and building exterior. A beloved organization within the community, Hosea House prides itself in 100% fundraising within its community, receiving no government grants and yet serving healthy, hot meals seven days a week in a beautiful setting that provides dignity and community.

A Dream Job

Speaking on her appointment as Executive Director, Lauren said, “I am grateful to both the Hosea House Board Members and the staff for selecting me as their new Executive Director. This truly is my dream job. Whether I will be serving our diners, getting to know our incredible volunteers, meeting new donors, or connecting with current donors, each aspect of this job can make a real difference in someone’s life. And to me, that is the definition of a dream job.”

Among her responsibilities will be fundraising, connecting with local businesses and organizations to form meaningful relationships with Hosea House and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Soup Kitchen so no one in Northern Kentucky goes to bed hungry. It is a noble cause that the community is encouraged to embrace by referring anyone hungry to get to Hosea for dinner. Dinner is served daily from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Would-be volunteers are encouraged to sign-up at www.hoseaserves.org.
